All applicants are individually assessed on their qualifications, skills, and experience. Also, applicants should either already be working for a business or willing to gain work experience 

Ideally, applicants should also have GCSE maths and English (or equivalent). If the applicant has the necessary experience within professional roles but not the appropriate qualification, then this will be assessed on evidence of work history.

HTQ HND Computing Module 13: Website Design & Development.

This unit provides you with an essential overview of Website Development, covering: 

The various tools, techniques and technologies used to plan, design and review a multipage website.

The methods used by designers and developers to blend back-end technologies (serverside) with front-end technologies (client-side).

The server technologies and management services associated with the hosting and management of websites.

The development of a multipage website and creation and use of a test plan to review the performance and design of a multipage website.

On completion of this unit, you will be able to explain the server technologies and management services associated with the hosting and management of websites, categorise website technologies, tools and software used to develop websites, utilise website technologies, tools and techniques with good design principles to create a multipage website and create and use a test plan to review the performance and design of a multipage website.

HTQ HND Computing Module 4: Database Design & Development.

This unit provides you with an essential overview of Database Development, covering: 

Different design tools and techniques.

Different development software options.

The features of a fully-functional database solution covering data integrity, data validation, data consistency, data security and advanced database querying facilities across multiple tables.

Creating and querying databases using SQL.

Creating complex reports from databases.

Testing a database system against the user and system requirements; and elements of complete system documentation.

On successful completion of this unit, you will be able to use appropriate tools to design and develop a relational database system, be able to test the system to ensure that it meets user and system requirements, and document the system by providing technical and user documentation.

The course will be a mix of classroom learning and practical work. You will build up the skills and knowledge that will enable you to complete the assessments for the units.

Your work will be continually assessed throughout this flexible and blended programme. Attendance will be required with online support and resources available throughout.
