Post Results
After you receive your results it may be appropriate to request a remark or to see your exam paper. This is a ‘Post Result Service’ and many of the services are very time-critical and carry a cost which must be paid online.
The following information explains what may happen following a clerical re-check, a review of marking and any subsequent appeal.
If your school or college submits a request for a clerical re-check or a review of the original marking, and then a subsequent appeal, for one of your examinations after your subject grade has been issued, there are three possible outcomes:
- Your original mark is lowered, so your final grade may be lower than the original grade you received
- Your original mark is confirmed as correct, so there is no change to your grade
- Your original mark is raised, so your final grade may be higher than the original grade you received.
Please click here for instructions on requesting Post Result Services. Please make sure that you have identified clearly which papers you wish to select with the subject.
- Request deadline for Priority review of marking (service 2) – e.g. university place pending / University Bursaries (AS and A Level & Vocational Level 3) is 22/8/2024.
- Request deadline for a Priority copy of the marked paper (AS & A Level access to scripts & Vocational Level 3) is 29/08/2024.
For further advice on what to do if your results were not as you hoped please contact your tutor directly.
Summer Exams Contingency Day
The awarding bodies have collectively agreed on some contingency dates which could be used in the event of a national or significant local disruption to exams in the United Kingdom. This means that the exam boards could choose to move the date of any exam at short notice so you need to be aware of the final contingency date for this year which will be confirmed once exam boards have advised us. The contingency date is 26/06/2024.
Please consider this date when making any plans for the summer. Candidates must remain available until this date should examinations need to be rescheduled to complete all the required assessments.
Summer Examinations Resits
If you left college in the summer of 2024 there is a process that you should follow should you wish to apply to resit any examinations in the Summer 2025 session. Note that there is not an Autumn 2024 resit opportunity.
We are only able to accept resit applications from ex-students of Shrewsbury Colleges Group. Any resit is conditional upon permission from the subject Programme Leader and subject to an interview with the Vice Principal A Levels. There is also a non-refundable charge that will be payable to the college.

Informing us of a name change
We accept changes to a legal name either via a Student Change of Circumstances Form completed at campus receptions or by emailing your Personal Tutor with a copy of your deed poll. The new name will be updated in our student records system and our exams team notified for the purpose of exam certificates.
New badges can then be reprinted for students.
Exam certificates
Exam certificates are legal documents and the name that appears on a certificate is the student’s legal name at the time the certificate is issued. The college will endeavour to notify awarding bodies of a student’s name change before certificates are issued. If certificates are issued with the birth name the student will need to pay to have the certificates changed via the individual awarding bodies.
Certificates will be issued in late October / early November so please notify the college of any change of address.
