Who is it for?
At SCG, we have an exciting new T Level in Digital Support Services starting in 2024. This course teaches you about the role digital technologies play in digital support. You’ll learn how to set up and maintain servers and networks and get a chance to explore different digital environments like physical hardware and cloud systems. We also cover the legal rules and ethical questions in the digital world, such as data harvesting. Our course will show you the different roles in this field, teach you how to communicate effectively, and train you to analyse and fix problems.
An essential part of our T Level course at SCG is a dedicated 315-hour industry placement, providing an invaluable opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a practical, professional setting within the digital support services sector.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, or a BTEC level 2 Diploma plus Functional Skills at level 2.

What does the course involve?
You will develop a general understanding of digital:
• How digital technologies impact business and market environment
• The ethical and moral implications of digital technology
• Using data in software design
• Using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
• Digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
• Legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
• The privacy and confidentiality of personal data
• The technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
• Planning digital projects
• Testing software, hardware and data
• Digital tools for project management and collaboration
You will also learn about topics specific to digital support services, including roles within the digital support services sector, communication in digital support services and fault analysis and problem resolution. -
How is the course assessed?
Varied assessment methods will be used including exams, synoptic assessment and an employer set project.

Additional Notes
Learners will gain the essential knowledge and skills to work in digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues.
On completion, you will be able to progress to a higher apprenticeship, skilled employment or degree level education.
