PCB Solicitors are looking for an Apprentice to join the Crime department at our Shrewsbury office to provide secretarial support to 3 Lawyers. We are looking for an Apprentice who is organised, efficient, pays attention to detail and has a keen interest in Law. It is essential the Apprentice understands the importance of confidentiality.

The Apprentice will support 3 Lawyers with their administrative/secretarial work in the Shrewsbury office. Day to day they will be expected to:

  • Deal with incoming/outgoing post for the Crime department
  • Administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and properly disposing of confidential documents
  • Answering calls for the department in a professional manner
  • Follow the archive procedure, preparing and closing files for scanning
  • Use the case management system to open and close client matters, draft correspondence and maintain client files
  • Liaise with the Accounts department where necessary
  • Audio-typing attendance notes, correspondence and other documents
  • Maintain the department calendar with client meetings, court hearings, deadlines and police station attendance
  • Phoning the courts and police stations for updates on client matters
