Entry Requirements
Level 1 Motor Vehicle qualification or suitable industry experience repairing basic electrical systems on vehicles.

What does the course involve?
The course aims to be very practical, as we believe the best way to learn is to do it! Every delegate works on their own training equipment, enabling you to get the most from the course.
This course will be particularly beneficial to those who diagnose, repair, and install general vehicle electrical systems, such as charging systems, lighting, vehicle security systems, auxiliary devices, and tow bars. You will develop both theoretical and practical knowledge.
The course covers items such as:
- Electrical principles - Volts, amps and resistance and measurement units, etc.
- Series and parallel circuits
- Electrical components, such as ISO relays and electronic relays
- The use of Digital multi meters and circuit testing
- Interpreting wiring diagrams
- Vehicle voltage distribution & power management
- Batteries, starting and charging systems and protection
- Lighting systems and circuits
- CAMBUS systems and digital communications
- Wiring loom repair - Soldering
- Introduction to EV and safe working

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed practically by your tutor and delegates receive a certificate of attendance.
There is the potential to progress to the Level 2 and 3 Electric Vehicle courses should you wish after completion of this course.
