Who is it for?
This qualification is aimed at anyone who has a responsibility for safeguarding children, young people or vulnerable adults. It will be particularly useful for people working in a training / educational setting, youth workers, and those involved in the running of youth sports teams and community groups that support children and young people.
The purpose of this qualification is to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty and safeguarding, including online safety.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where they have a duty of care.

Entry Requirements
Learners should be aged over 19, but otherwise there are no specific entry requirements for this programme.

What does the course involve?
The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent comprises three mandatory units that are presented in two concise modular workbooks:
- Unit 01: Understanding the Prevent duty
- Unit 02: Understanding safeguarding
- Unit 03: Understanding online safety
Each workbook has an assessment that you will need to complete.

How is the course assessed?
To pass this qualification, learners are required to complete formal Assessments (one after each module) submitted to us for marking.

How much does it cost?
This course is currently being offered free of charge. If, however, the learner withdraws early without a valid reason, a charge may be incurred to cover the cost of the supplied materials.

This qualification may support progression toward the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
