We collaborate with local and national businesses to provide students with valuable experience and skills through work placements. These placements bridge the gap between education and industry, benefiting both students and employers. The knowledge and practical skills students gain are essential for enhancing their employability and career prospects.

Placements can be conducted in-person, virtually, or through a hybrid model, and must adhere to safeguarding and safety standards. While the standard placement duration is 36 hours, we can offer flexible arrangements to suit your business requirements.

Benefits for Employers

  • Gain additional support for tasks or projects during peak periods
  • Students bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas
  • Mentoring students can offer CPD (Continuing Professional Development) opportunities for junior staff
  • Strengthen links with education through industry-related learning goals
  • Identify and develop potential future apprentices or employees
  • Address recruitment needs while enhancing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Alternative Ways to Support Work Experience

If hosting a placement isn’t feasible, you can still support students by:

  • Offering workplace tours or field visits
  • Delivering industry talks or masterclasses
  • Assigning small-scale projects to students
  • Participating in careers fairs or mock interviews

Employer Duty of Care

Employers hosting placements are responsible for providing a safe and supervised work environment. This includes assigning a contact person, maintaining current Employers’ Liability Insurance, completing a Health and Safety form, and signing an agreement. As this may be a student’s first workplace experience, they may require extra guidance. Clear expectations, structured daily schedules, and regular feedback ensure a positive experience for both parties.
