An ex-student at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, Isla Luckman has started her own business producing ‘milk safes’.
She has built a product that has customers across the UK not worrying about whether their milk will be stolen, broken, or go off.
These boxes have lockable and insulated options to prevent thieves and even empty bottles from getting smashed. She started this when she realised the growing trend of consumers returning bottles after they had gone off or broken due to different circumstances.
She decided to open her business after building a love for woodwork at school and college where she completed carpentry courses achieving a Distinction.
Isla said “When customers order one of my milk safes they can choose a size that will accommodate up to four bottles, or more. I use high-grade plywood and roofing felt to make the box weatherproof. There is also an insulated option to protect against extreme summer and winter temperatures. Brass hinges attach the weighted lid, and the box can either be free-standing or wall-hung."
