You will be required to submit six units of coursework for assessment throughout the year, and grades are awarded at the end of each assignment, subject to internal and external moderation processes. An external examiner verifies summative assessment at the end of the course.

Who is it for?
This is an exciting and varied programme and provides a nationally recognised qualification designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for success in the field of Art and Design. After completion of the course students would normally progress onto a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design, Fashion or Multimedia, some students may seek employment.

Entry Requirements
You will need a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including Art & Design.

What does the course involve?
This course solely focuses on developing your artistic skills. Throughout the course, you'll work on a range of exciting and inspiring topics in many different ways, and it will help broaden your knowledge.
We offer a friendly environment to work in, and our teachers have dedicated Art specialists who will help you develop your ideas and inspire you.
A broad introduction to gain skills and understanding of visual language across a range of disciplines - producing, photography, print, drawing and painting techniques, 3D design and textiles, as you build a portfolio of work. You will be expected to develop an awareness of classic and contemporary art and design practices and influences.

Additional Notes
You can go onto one of the Level 3 Art, Design, Fashion or Photography courses that we offer at the English Bridge Campus. These 2-year courses will provide you with the opportunity to continue to develop your artistic skills in the direction that you would like. Any one of these Level 3 courses will provide you with a firm grounding for various careers in the creative industries or allow you to continue your studies at the higher education level.

Further Information
There are chances to visit exhibitions and galleries across the UK with opportunities for trips to Graduate Fashion Week, New Designers in London, Tate Liverpool, the V&A, and Tate Modern.
