Who is it for?
This 2-day course aims to provide training and updates to those who hold nationally recongised, gas trade association qualifications and wish to gain ACS (Accreditation Certification Scheme) status in Nautral Gas Safety. Successful completion of ACS Initial Assessment or Re-Assessment allows candidates to operate as fully qualified gas engineers. Individuals must present evidence of their qualifications to the Assessment Centre before the start of this training course.
-
Entry Requirements
The requirements for Guidance Note 8 for category 1, 2 & 3 applicants must be adhered to as follows: prospective candidates for this ACS Initial Assessment must hold a recognised entry route according to GN8, either apprenticeship, specified qualification or Managed Learning Programme (please contact us for specific information or guidance).
-
What does the course involve?
The two days of training cover the following:
- ACS: the latest updates
- CCN1: Gas Core Safety
- CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers + Water Heaters
- HTR1: Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
- CKR1: Cookers (not range cookers)
- MET1: Gas Meters
- CPA1: Gas Analyser
-
How is the course assessed?
These two days of comprehensive training are designed to prepare candidates fully for either their ACS Intial Assessment or Re-Assessment at Shrewsbury College, London Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6PR. We are BPEC approved and fully equipped to meet the latest Government Guidelines and ACS domestic gas requirements.
-
How much does it cost?
The 2-day Training Courses usually run from a Monday to a Tuesday costing £250. Candidates are strongly advised to attend this course before their 3-day Assessment (which usually runs from a Wednesday to a Friday). However, training is not a prerequisite for attending the Assessment. The cost for the 3-day Assessment varies depending on the type of assessment. For most candidates who are renweing their GAS Safe (GAS Core Safety - ACS Re-Assessment CCN1 + 1-3 appliances) the current cost is £600. Please note that costs will vary depending on the type of assessment required, any extra candidate assessment needs, and prices are subject to change. Please note that this course is VAT exempt.
