Assessment is through written coursework and practical assessments. There are practical training sessions each week delivered by professional UEFA qualified coaches. You will have the opportunity to be selected for the England U18s development centres and squads.

  • How much does it cost?

    Selected players for this programme will be supplied with a match-day kit along with a diet and training plan. Successful applicants will be expected to purchase their own full training kit which is to be worn at every training session and match.

  • Who is it for?

    We are delighted to be working with a recognised global football partner on this programme. You will receive professional football coaching delivered by UEFA qualified coaches. This programme of study is a unique opportunity for those who prefer to learn practically and wish to develop their football skills whilst building on developing their transferable skills. It will prepare you for employment and Higher Education.

    This programme is primarily an education programme focused on young players that have played at a county or representative standard in the past. The young people that qualify for the programme will have the opportunity to be selected for the England national U19's league squads.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, preferably including English or Maths. You must be enthusiastic about sport and fitness with a particular interest in mastering techniques and skills in football.

  • What does the course involve?

    This is a fantastic course for those who love football, are highly committed and organised.

    You will fully engage in all practical sessions as you will play in a competitive league.

    There will be strict deadlines for coursework alongside busy training and matchplay schedules.

    Successful applicants will be selected through football trials and academic qualifications.

    You will study an Extended Diploma Sports Coaching and Development with a particular focus on football.

    You will also have the opportunity to gain FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate and FA Refereeing and Officiating Awards.

     

  • Additional Notes

    There are several routes of progression following the successful completion of this course. Previous students have gone on to football coaching, teaching, as well as other football related careers. You could progress to higher education programmes studying sports studies, sports management or sports science. Potential options could be to study areas like sports analysis, sports therapy, coaching etc at universities across the country.
