All assessments in the qualification will be computer-based assessments (CBAs). CBAs are an up-to-date method of assessment that directly reflect the practical tasks that you currently perform or will be performing in the workplace.
The results for exams are immediate for the Tax Processes for Business and Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements modules. The results for the Management Accounting Techniques and Business Awareness modules take five to six weeks. You are graded as an overall Pass, Merit or Distinction once all assessments are complete. The pass mark is 70% for each assessment.

What Will This Qualification Lead To?
This qualification is part of a suite of AAT qualifications available to students that offer both horizontal and vertical progression channels. Completion of this qualification can provide progression onto the Associate Bookkeeping membership, where students will gain professional
recognition with the designatory letters AATQB. Students may also progress onto Professional level and become a full member of AAT upon achieving the associated membership criteria.

However, for the best chance of success, we recommend that students have completed the Foundation Certificate in Accounting or have relevant work experience alongside a good standard of English and maths. If students do have any other relevant school or college qualifications, a degree, or some accounting experience, these may in certain circumstances entitle students to claim exemptions.
- Who is it for?
The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting offers technical training in accounting and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy and finance.
The purpose of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progress to employment in an accounting or finance role, or to further study in accountancy and finance.
This qualification is a progression route for students who have achieved the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping. It's also suitable for those who have already started their journey studying a related subject and are looking to develop their skills in accounting or for those who have already started working in finance and who have a need and desire to attain formal recognition of their skills
The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is suitable for 16-19-year-old students in an apprenticeship. It is also suited to adult students, career changers and those seeking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this occupational area.
- Entry Requirements
It is expected that students will have successfully completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, the Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or have some other recognised finance/accounting qualification.
