Eligibility for FREE Level 2 Distance Learning Courses:

  • Be resident in England and live in a postcode area that is eligible for funding
  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over as of the current academic year
  • Have a Full Level 2 qualification if aged 19-23 (subject to a ULN check being undertaken)
  • Have lived in the EU for the last three years

To pass this qualification, learners are required to complete two formal assessments (one after each module) which are submitted to us for marking

  • Who is it for?

The course is suitable for a wide range of learners, including those who are already in work to support their continuous professional development, or those seeking employment. It's also ideal for those who are looking to develop an awareness of issues surrounding equality and diversity, for their own personal development.

  • Entry Requirements

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for these qualifications; however, candidates may find it beneficial if they have already achieved a Level 1 qualification. Good numeracy and literacy skills are also advantageous.

  • What does the course involve?

This course will help to raise awareness of discrimination, prejudice, stereotyping, and individual freedoms and rights. In doing so, it will promote learners' understanding of what it means to live in a diverse society and the laws that are in place to prevent unjust behaviour. This will be beneficial not only to the learners themselves but also to their employers and the wider society. The course comprises three mandatory units arranged into two modules:

    • Unit 01 Equality and diversity in society
    • Unit 02 Equality and diversity in the community
    • Unit 03 Equality and diversity in the workplace

This qualification could be what you need to improve your career prospects and get your ideal job, if you are unable to attend college on a regular basis. Distance Learning with Shrewsbury Colleges Group gives you more flexibility, allowing you to study where and when you want. All you need is a commitment, as Distance Learning is not necessarily an easy option, especially if you are already working full-time. We offer specially prepared course materials, which combined with help and support from your subject teacher make your learning experience easily manageable.

  • Additional Notes

This course is currently being offered free of charge. If, however, the learner withdraws early without reason, a charge may be incurred to cover the cost of the supplied materials.
