This course is designed for candidates who wish to enter the Gas Industry.
- Entry Requirements
Gas Safe Registration has changed and anyone who wishes to become Gas Safe Registered must undertake a Managed Learning Programme. They should either have a previous Plumbing Qualification or have extensive knowledge and experience working in the plumbing industry. Candidates should have gained grade 4/C or above in GCSE English and Maths.
- What does the course involve?
The course requires 266 hours in a centre environment which will take place over 35 weeks. There is also the requirement for 'On the job' training under the direct supervision of a Gas Safe Registered Installer.
There is an additional requirement to complete training depending on the relevant Appliances selected. - How is the course assessed?
Assessments consist of both practical and theory.
The Gas Foundation Portfolio allows the candidate to record the training they undertake, along with evidence of knowledge and experience.
Once the Portfolio has been completed and passed by a qualified Assessor, candidates apply to undertake the relevant gas competencies, successful completion of which allows them to register with the Gas Safe Register. - What do I do next?
