With employers facing a skills shortage that could impact their future success, the government have responded by working alongside hundreds of employers to design a suite of T Level courses that deliver the skills organisations say they need. Each T Level is equivalent to 3 A Levels and helps young people develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills to thrive in the workplace. At the heart of each course, every T Level student completes an industry placement that lasts a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days). Industry placements give the employer a unique opportunity to help develop new talent in their industry and get young people work-ready.
Benefits include:
- Attracting motivated young people to your business, bringing in imaginative and new ideas
- Improving the recruitment pipeline for your business
- Addressing local and national skills gaps by helping young people develop the skills your industry needs
- Developing existing staff’s mentoring and management skills
- Building a more diverse and creative workforce
- Playing an important role in the local community
- Building partnerships with local training and education providers
- Saving recruitment costs by providing the opportunity to see what the young person can offer, on a no-obligation employment basis.
