This course is developed to allow you will reach the skilled level where you can construct and understand the components and systems within a control panel in an engineering environment.

Entry Requirements
No prior knowledge is required for this course as it starts from scratch and assumes no previous experience, however an understanding of basic electrical/electronic principles would be an advantage.

What does the course involve?
The course aims to be very practical, as we believe the best way to learn is to do it! Every delegate works on their own training equipment, enabling you to get the most from the course. The aim of this course, is for delegates to develop the understanding and skills needed to test, fault find and repair various electrical/electronic devices and circuit boards.
The course covers items such as:
- Working safely, complying with health and safety legislation, regulations and other relevant guidelines
- Assembly drawings, test procedures and technical drawings
- Electrical/Electronic component identification and purpose
- Joining techniques used to create components, such as soldering, surface mount boards and mechanical connections
- Construction, assembly of electronic circuits/circuit boards and testing activities
- Component replacement

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed practically by your tutor and delegates receive a certificate of attendance. There is the potential to gain certification through City and Guilds for a more advanced course should this be required.
