Entry Requirements
A Level 1 qualification in Welding or suitable experience.

What does the course involve?
For further development in practical welding programmes from level 1 in the chosen method of either MIG, TIG and MMA to suit the individual interests of the person undertaking the course. For persons wanting to join the programme, the evening only, one night per week course offers the City & Guilds 3268 Award in Welding Skills. This is a programme with a certificate at the end of each unit.
Part time day programmes are structured in a similar way to the evening only programme and may be available on request.
During the course you will study the following modules: Setting up and closing down procedures of welding equipment; Basic MMA welding techniques and joints; Health and safety in a welding workshop.
By studying this course you will gain: Knowledge of welding processes; Skills in welding joints; Ability to tackle more complex tasks; Skills in joining a range of materials; An understanding of fault analysis.

How is the course assessed?
Assessment of practical work will be marked internally and verified externally by City and Guilds.

Additional Notes
Suitable full length welding overalls and safety boots are needed.
