Who is it for?
This is a varied programme and provides a nationally recognised qualification designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for success in certificate in gents cutting techniques.
You will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Barbering.

What does the course involve?
The course will include a mixture of theory and practical skills.
You will learn basic gents cutting skills, including one length, uniform layer and short graduation using club cutting as well as freehand and thinning techniques with scissors, clippers and trimmers. You will also learn how to create square, round and tapered necklines.
The knowledge acquired by you will enable you to understand the main factors that need to be considered when cutting men's hair, the effect of cutting hair at different angles and the health and safety considerations.
The units will be assessed by observation in a commercial salon environment, and by assignment forms and online exams. You will need to bring in clients for practical assessments.

Additional Notes
You will gain a City and Guilds Award in Cutting Men's Hair.
