Motor Vehicle
Our Motor Vehicle department teaches students in an industry-standard working garage to ensure our students have the most up-to-date industry knowledge and hands-on experience with the kit used by motor industry professionals. We are an MOT-approved training centre, with a full MOT test lane and the latest hybrid vehicle and vehicle diagnostic and repair facilities that all students have access to throughout their course. Theory sessions are delivered in specialist classrooms which contain various visual learning aids and test/diagnostics rigs.
We offer a range of qualifications, from Level 1 to Level 3 that include the servicing and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These qualifications and levels of technical knowledge will improve job opportunities for our students, and we work closely with many employers in the area including Greenhous Group, JT Hughes, Specialist Cars, and Halfords to ensure that you have the best opportunity to secure an apprenticeship or employment either during, or once you have completed your course.
The college owns varied vehicles for students to develop their skills and knowledge and then progress on working on cars belonging to staff to complete general activities such as servicing, exhaust replacements, wheel balancing, vehicle geometry, diagnostics, and valeting. The workshop provides students with ‘real working issues and complications’ in preparation for entering the industry.
