Last week, we were honored to have Gemma from Race Against Blood Cancer visit all three of our campuses.

Her purpose was to raise awareness about the life-changing impact of becoming a stem cell donor.

One of our own former students, Marshall, is bravely facing a diagnosis of Folliculotropic Mycosis Fungoides (FMF), a rare and potentially aggressive type of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma (CTCL). Unfortunately, there is currently no match for him on the stem cell register, which adds to the urgency of the mission.

During Gemma's four-day visit, we were uplifted to see 105 students sign up for the stem cell register. We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate; your willingness to help could make a profound difference in Marshall's life and the lives of many other patients who are waiting for a match.

In addition to the sign-ups, Alex from BBC Radio Shropshire joined Gemma, along with Lorraine (our Agency Project Coordinator) and one of our dedicated students, Freddy, to discuss the importance of this cause. Together, they shared insights on why it’s crucial for young people to consider joining the stem cell register and how it could change lives—especially for Marshall and others battling blood cancer.

Thank you for your support as we strive to find a match for Marshall and those in similar situations.
