TEF is a system that assesses the quality of teaching in universities in England. It was introduced by the government in 2017 to provide a resource for potential undergraduate students to judge the quality of provision. Universities are classified as bronze, silver or gold and the ratings are determined by six core analyses based on teaching, academic support and progression to employment. The final decision is made by an independent group of academics, students and employers.

Helen Fellows, Head of HE at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, was full of praise for her students and teaching staff. ‘I am delighted we have been awarded TEF Bronze for our Higher Education provision. We are very proud at SCG of our excellent students, their achievements and their positive destinations. Being officially validated at Bronze is testament to their hard work and also the hard work of the staff who support them through their studies and beyond.’

James Staniforth, Principal of Shrewsbury Colleges Group, was equally delighted with the results. ‘This year, Shrewsbury Colleges Group is celebrating 25 years of Higher Education, and these recent accreditations just show the depth of quality in provision that we are offering. I am particularly proud that one of the aspects on which we have been measured is student satisfaction and support. We are a smaller HE College, and this means we can support and nurture our students to help them achieve great things.’
