Each year, the competition is entered by students up and down the country who are involved with technical education and apprenticeships.
Level 2 Hairdressing student Loui Herbert was encouraged to enter because of his enthusiasm, motivation, and creativity in hairdressing as attested to by his teachers.
As well as attending college, Loui works at Fusion hairdressers in Shrewsbury, learning from a professional team. They have been supporting Loui with his development, offering training every Wednesday and the opportunity to work on clients and gain valuable industry feedback.
Loui entered Stage 1 of the competition at the beginning of April which was a photographic entry (pictured). Working to a brief of “Ladies Long Hair Styling Classical Styling” his look was judged, and he successfully made it through to Stage 2 which will take place on the 6th of June at Warwickshire College.
At the next stage of the competition, Loui will work alongside 19 other competitors he will complete Tasks B – “Ladies Long Hair Style Editorial/Catwalk/High Fashion” and C - “Ladies Commercial Cut, Colour & Style.”
Everyone at the college is very excited that Loui has made it through to the next stage! It will certainly be a challenge, but we are confident he has the skills and ability to produce looks that are worthy of going through to the Stage 3 final.
