In an age where digital media dominates our daily lives, it’s rare to come across content that genuinely inspires. However, one of our very own students has managed to do just that. College student Chris Novelli-Cain recently entered a competition to showcase his love for physics by producing a video showcasing his passion for astrophysics and astronomy.

Chris was keen to use his video to highlight the many different levels of this scientific study, going from the local level of astronomy that many amateurs get involved with all the way to the theoretical levels of astrophysics.

Chris’s video earned praise from both peers and teachers. The video, a mesmerising blend of fascinating interviews, stunning visuals, and profound insights, takes viewers on a journey to the vast expanse of the universe. The challenge that Chris faced with the production of the video was editing the huge amount of information and content into a three minute video.

Chris is a keen astronomer and plays a key role in the Shropshire Astronomy Society. He added: “I’ve always been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe, physics and astronomy are not just subjects to me; they help shape how I view the world.”
Jamie Hopkins, Curriculum Director and Head of Physics, has high praise for Chris’s work. “Chris has a remarkable ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in a way that is both engaging and understandable,” he continued. “His passion for physics and astronomy is evident in every frame of the video.”

In an age where science often takes a backseat to entertainment, Chris’s video is a reminder of the wonder and excitement that comes from exploring the universe. His dedication and creativity show us that with passion and perseverance, the sky is not the limit - it’s just the beginning.
