Previous Institution: Meole Brace School

Studying here has given me an even greater love of Maths because of the fantastic Maths department. The teachers are brilliant and I have access to all the resources I need. I got the opportunity to take part in the British Maths Olympiad and that really helped with my application to University. I am going to study Maths at St Johns College, Oxford University and I aspire to do academic research after that.

A Level Statistics (Business and Economics)
Previous school: Newtown High School

My local college didn’t give me the choice of subjects that I wanted to study at A Level but here there are no timetable restrictions. I really love statistics as you can apply so many of the methods you learn to every day situations.

Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning
Previous school: The Priory School

I am studying this course as I would like to progress onto the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner course in September. I am enjoying the placement side of the course, as I attend a primary school once a week, which I am finding beneficial. Meeting new people and building new relationships is improving my confidence, as well as building on my skills and knowledge.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design
Previous school: Priory School

Art is the subject that I felt most passionate about and I wanted to study it as a vocational course because I felt A Levels were not for me. I work on art whenever I can, at College and at home. I especially love working with charcoal and I was given the freedom to use this medium often.

A Level Media Studies (Maths, Business)
Previous school: Mary Webb School

I chose Media Studies because I enjoy the subject and I wanted something creative to study alongside my other A Level choices. This is a course that gives you opportunities and focus, plus the teachers are so engaging. After College I am hoping to study media and culture at university.

A Level Chemistry (Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathmatics)
Previous Institution: Corbet School

The College has a brilliant reputation and creates a lot of future Russell Group students. Having the opportunity to take part in the Royal Chemistry Society’s Schools’ Analyst Competition was a useful experience and the support systemat College is great - you can email your teachers whenever you need their help. I would like to study Biochemistry in 2020, so I will spend my next year improving my knowledge through work experience and researching the best suited university for my needs.
