A Level Physical Education (Biology, Psychology)
Previous school: Lakelands School
I want to study a sport subject at university, probably physical therapy, so taking Physical Education at A Level was an obvious choice. I really enjoy all the practicals that we do. I played for the England Under 19s Rugby team and I am also part of the College Rugby team which I found out about at the Induction Festival during my first week at SCG.
- Course Studied: Physics A Level
- Course: 922
A Level Physics (Chemistry, Biology, Maths)
Previous school: Mary Webb School
I am going to the University of Birmingham to study Medical Biochemistry and I have used my Physics A Level to create links with Biology to further understand the subject. I have really enjoyed learning about quantum physics and there are loads of good practicals to do throughout the two years.
- Course Studied: Politics A Level
- Course: 891
A Level Politics (Economics, History)
Previous school: The Priory School
I enjoy the debates that we have in class and learning how the government works. Politics can be so relevant to everyone and you learn about current affairs all over the world. I also enjoy looking at political parties and their ideologies. I will be joining the Navy when I finish college, to become an Officer.
- Course Studied: ICT BTEC
- Course: 902
IT Multimedia and Games BTEC (Photography, Computer Science)
Previous school: Shrewsbury Academy
ICT has always been a big interest for me and once I have completed College I will be going to University of Wolverhampton to study games development. My favourite focus has been programming – you can get involved and you learn loads of new techniques. This course teaches useful skills that you can take into a variety of career roles.

Product Design gives you a lot of options for your future. I enjoyed the project where we had to make something out of a generic Ikea stool – I created an adjustable table. After College I would like to do an Apprenticeship with JLR.
- Course Studied: Religious Studies A Level
- Course: 888
A Level Religious Studies (Media Studies, Politics)

Religious Studies puts a new perspective on things and it encourages a different way of thinking. It has helped with my communication skills and you develop your own way of learning. I have really enjoyed looking at Meta ethics and ethical theories - you are inspired to create your own point of view. After College I will be going to Southampton Aviation Academy to become a Commercial Pilot.
- Course Studied: Sociology A Level
- Course: 923
A Level Sociology (Business, Photography)
Previous school: The Priory School
I thought Sociology A Level sounded really interesting. I want to go into Nursing after College and it will really help me achieve that. I enjoyed learning about sociological methods. Sociology helps you to have an open mind and see things from different perspectives. Sociology is a relevant and interesting subject. I will be continuing it at university, but not sure what I want to specialise in yet, I just know I want to work in Sociology. The teaching is good, and relevant to current situations in the world and you learn skills that you can transfer over to other subjects. I have enjoyed learning about crime sociology the most – why crimes are committed and how authorities react.
- Course: 934
A Level Statistics (Biology, Psychology)
Previous school: Charlton School
I came to SCG because there were more course options and they were the only College in the area who did Statistics A Level. I find Statistics a really interesting subject and I appreciate how it can be applied to everyday-life. After my studies I would like to get an Apprenticeship in banking. I have enjoyed having the chance to analyse data from the internet, it is realistic and great practice for my future career.
- Course Studied: Textiles A Level
- Course: 916
A Level Textiles (English Literature, Geography)
Previous school: Bridgnorth Endowed School
My family are designers and I wanted to follow a similar pathway, but Textiles A Level was not offered at my local College, so I came to SCG. The facilities here are amazing and they have allowed me to develop my interior and printing skills. Studying Textiles has been a really fun way for me to explore what I enjoy - you can choose to work in so many different ways. Screen-printing is my favourite and I have been able to create stencils like a professional. I will be going to university next year to study Textile Surface Pattern.
